Long Island Chamber Music Festival and Planting Fields Arboretum invite you to celebrate the summer solstice with an effervescent evening of chamber music under the stars. Come hear five of New York’s finest young musicians perform music inspired by dance. This program’s party atmosphere, enhanced by wine and cheese, pairs Mozart’s charming Divertimento in D Major with a collection of dances arranged by the Danish String Quartet. The New York premiere of composer Nick DiBerardino’s Between the Reels, inspired by reel tunes from Dublin’s many pubs, brings a raucous energy that is rounded out by the final piece of the evening: a tango and dance suite for French Horn and String Quartet by Corrado Maria Saglietti.
Long Island Chamber Music Festival is comprised of young musicians of the highest caliber. Drawn from Carnegie Hall, the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Astral Artists, and several other of the country’s most prestigious musical institutions, the musicians of Long Island Chamber Music Festival are united around a common mission. They work to present interactive performances of the highest quality, bringing engaging new music and approachable, informative programming to diverse audiences on Long Island.
